University of Western Australia

Residential Demand Study

The University of Western Australia commissioned HillPDA to analyse the existing supply and determine the future demand for student accommodation at the University for domestic and international students.

HillPDA’s research and analysis reinforced that there is an undersupply of student accommodation for many of the major Australian Universities. The importance of high quality, on-campus accommodation is recognised by the leading global universities as an important factor for capturing student enrolment.

A survey of the current and prospective students aided in informing the key determinative factors for students when selecting student accommodation. Building upon this data and other economic variables HillPDA provided forecasts for student accommodation demand, advised on the benefits of providing student accommodation and advised on the key drivers to attract future international students.
