Sydney Metro
Business Impact Assessment
HillPDA was commissioned as part of the broader EIS Specialist team to undertaken a Business Impact Assessment for the Sydenham to Bankstown upgrade component of the Sydney Metro project.
The project involved upgrading the 10 existing stations from Marrickville to Bankstown (inclusive), and the 13 kilometre long section of the Sydney Trains T3 Bankstown Line between west of Sydenham Station and west of Bankstown Station, to improve accessibility for customers and enable conversion of the line to metro standards. The purpose of the HillPDA technical paper was to identify and assess the local business impacts of the project during both construction and operation. The study provided a profile of the geographic localities and local businesses that would likely be affected (positively or negatively) by the project.
Our value add
HillPDA developed a business survey specifically designed to ascertain the sensitivities and dependencies of businesses. This assisted in identifying the extent, severity and likelihood of potential impacts. Mitigation measures were recommended to reduce any potential effects on businesses.
Outcome
HillPDA produced a robust and unbiased business impact assessment that comprehensively presented the potential effect on businesses as a result of construction and operation of the project.
