Goulburn Mulwaree Employment Land Strategy wins 2017 Local Government Award

HillPDA at the 2017 Local Government NSW Planning Awards

Congratulations to Goulburn Mulwaree Council on winning the 2017 Local Government NSW Planning award for Culture Change Innovation and Excellence – Rural and Regional Councils for the Goulburn Mulwaree Employment Land Strategy.

HillPDA is proud to have worked alongside Council to develop the Employment Land Strategy that will guide future decision-making by Council and other stakeholders.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council is committed to implementing this robust Strategy to ensure there is adequate and appropriate employment land to provide for sustainable growth into the future. Recommendations were broken into short, medium and long term time periods for ease of implementation.

HillPDA’s multi-disciplinary Strategic Planning and Economics teams worked in conjunction with Council and stakeholders to develop two distinct parts to the Strategy:

  1. A Recommendations Report which contains the future directions for employment lands and recommendations; and
  2. A Background Report which documents the locational context of the LGA and a literature review.

HillPDA’s services included:

  • Land use planning
  • Community engagement
  • Policy analysis
  • Demographic and industry trend analysis
  • Employment land demand and forecasting

The LGNSW Planning Awards recognise both individuals and councils who have acted to improve the culture within their organisation in relation to planning and development services.

“The LGNSW received 23 award entries, from large and small councils, in the metropolitan area and in country NSW. The variety of innovative projects was been impressive and demonstrates the enthusiasm, commitment and innovation of planning professionals in local government.”
