‘Estate Master Sailing’ Runners up at Farr 40 World Championship

Congratulations to Estate Master Sailing who finished a very credible 2nd in the World Farr 40 Championship, in San Francisco.

A fleet of 19 boats from 7 countries competed for the title in what is arguably the best one design fleet ever assembled.
Over the 4 days only 7 races were completed due to the abnormal conditions that prevailed.

Although Estate Master didn’t win a race it was there consistency that saw them at the top end of the leader board, being one of only 2 boats to place in the top 9 every race.

Skipper Martin Hill commented…

“It was an extremly tricky regatta. Normally we would see 20 knots every day but this time we raced in 8 to 16 knots, we even missed a day due to zero winds.”

“I’m extremly happy with our result. We beat last years world champions and given a full compliment of races we may have been able to fight harder for the win, but that’s racing I guess. Next season our preparation will step up again and we are looking forward to fighting for the championship in 2015.”

Team Plenty from the USA took the title and Team Enfant Terrible from Italy rounded out the top 3.

Estate Master Sailing plans to compete in the 2015 North American Circuit comprising of 4 events culminating with the 2015 Farr 40 Worlds in October at Long Beach, California.
