Jobs boost through fast-tracked planning system
The NSW Government has announced the Planning System Acceleration program to assist with maintaining jobs and economic activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the property and construction sectors. The program includes a number of measures designed to reduce backlogs and expedite assessment processes, including increases to the capacity of the Land and Environment Court and support for Councils and planning panels. Funding is also provided for infrastructure to support the construction of additional housing in North West Sydney. The announcement of further measures is likely in the coming weeks.
