Honeysuckle
Strategic Divestment and Advisory
Hunter Central Coast Development Corporation NSW (HCCDC) is responsible for urban renewal projects across the Newcastle City Centre. Specifically the HDC mandate is to activate the city to attract people, jobs and tourism to Newcastle. In parallel the NSW Government is investing more than $650 million to transform the city centre by strengthening connections between the city and waterfront, creating job opportunities, providing new housing and delivering attractive public spaces connected to better transport.
HDC engaged HillPDA to provide strategic advisory services in the divestment of three assets known as Lee 5, Throsby and Wickham.
Outcome
HillPDA prepared a report that provided an understanding of each site’s context, hypothetical land value based on varying land use mixes, recommended an appropriate divestment strategy and assisted in the drafting of the EOI and CFP documentation and assessment criteria.
This project is currently ongoing but has now evolved to acting as specialist advisors for HDC in the overall business case for the future Honeysuckle precinct.
