Jewish Communal Appeal
Community Strategy Plan
As specialists in urban and property economics, HillPDA was engaged by the Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA) to undertake a gap analysis into the future infrastructure requirements of the NSW and ACT Jewish community. The report presented a desktop analysis of the Jewish community and how it has changed demographically over the past 15 years, as well as an assessment of current provision of community and public infrastructure in key areas of Jewish population density or greatest change in terms of Jewish population density changes.
Key elements of the project included:
- Desktop analysis of characteristics and distribution in NSW and ACT’s Jewish population from 2011 to 2021
- A review of relevant State and local government policies
- Identification of key current and future population trends
- Review of Jewish infrastructure assets
- Projecting future infrastructure needs
A community infrastructure gaps assessment, which informed long term strategic directions for infrastructure provision in NSW and the ACT
Project outcome
The findings of this report, combined with the outcomes of stakeholder engagement sessions, provided an evidence base to inform the preparation of JCA’s Community Plan 2050. The report identified a broad indication of current and future gaps in the provision of community infrastructure and provided a set of strategic directions to support future Jewish infrastructure delivery.
